380mm Brembo High Performance Brake Kit

With most owners of 997 GT3 & RS models using the car for track days having good reliable brakes is an important consideration; especially when under continued arduous use. Brembo have worked directly with UK Porsche development company Oakley Design to test and develop a braking system that is the ultimate direct replacement kit.

Brembo’s solution is the new ‘M’ spec 6pot Yellow caliper (front) and ‘P’ spec Yellow caliper rear for the 997 GT3 & RS. The kit features 380mm 2 piece grooved discs front & rear and a larger pad area than the OE units which has been developed in conjunction with Pagid; providing incredible braking performance and durability without the squeal or rattle commonly associated with this type of upgrade and compound.

The kit has been fitted to the Oakley Design 997 GT3 for the last 4 months for both continued road and track testing whilst doubling up as a product demonstrator for both Brembo and Oakley Design customers.

The complete kit includes calipers, discs, bells, pads, stainless hoses & mounting brackets retails at £2995 for the front kit & £2395 for the rear.

Brembo’s Alberto Ferrari spent time on Silverstone GP track with Oakley Design’s Jon Oakley assessing the kit and giving the joint venture the green light last week (7/2/08). Jon commented ‘When compared to the price of PCCB this kit upgrade makes sense. We have owners of GT3 & RS models who remove the PCCB option and replace with a performance kit such as the Brembo and refit the OE units when it comes to moving the car on, otherwise it’s usually an £10k bill to replace the PCCB’s at point of sale.
