Oakley Design Titanium 'Supercup' System 

- 996 / 997 GT3 & RS, Cup & RSR

Oakley Design has created the ultimate exhaust system for Porsche 996/997 GT3, GT3 RS & Cup car models.

 

                    

Following many hours of CAD design, material test, dyno and sound test and optimisation was followed by rigorous track work resulted in Oakley Design producing a ‘masterpiece’.

The strict programme requirement was that the selected material must be able to be mandrel bent (headers) and maintain perfect wall thickness to balance weight reduction with durability.

Oakley Design engineers consulted with metallic experts to carefully select the optimum grade of Titanium that would provide the required properties required for a Porsche high performance exhaust system.

By using titanium to produce the complete system this benefits the vehicle performance and handling by providing a significant weight saving (at the furthest most rear point of the car) over both original equipment and alternative aftermarket performance exhausts

A weight saving of 25.35kgs

Final dyno and rolling road runs of the Oakley Design Titanium ‘Supercup’ exhaust showed a power increase of 12bhp. When coupled to the additional weight benefit the power to weight gain is greater than the physical bhp increase.

Final figures with an Oakley Design ECU re-map showed 443bhp (repeated) from a 412bhp ‘stock’ engine.
